Property Image FAQ

As we are updating and making changes to the site there may be some issues that crop up from time to time, we hope to address some of those here with this FAQ section.

Regarding Property Images

Question: I am submitting my images but when I go to publish the property I am taken to a white page, get a server 500 error or it just times out, when I refresh it seems my property has been added twice or multiple times. Why is this?

Answer: When submitting / adding images its best to have a ratio of 1024 x 768 or upwards, if images are being taken straight off a digital camera they will usually be very high in file size and have a ratio of 4080 x 2720, the server will reject images this large and cause the page to time out. This is because the website utilises a script called “timthumb” which dynamically resizes uploaded images but will not work on very high resolution Images. We suggest using a simple image re-size tool such as fotosizer and shrinking your images to a maximum of around 1024 x 768 pixels so they will be lower filesize and easier to upload. If you aren’t really that computer savvy then try picresize its very easy to re-size your large images in bulk.
